Finally Picked up Again

I finally chose a project to work on after almost a year. I'm knitting Knitty's Square Cake:

I needed a project that wouldn't take me forever to finish and am using some yarn I bought from Italy. My last real project was Clapotis but I messed it up when I picked it up after neglecting it for a good amount of time and lost my place. I really hate frogging projects but may have to especially because the yarn I bought to make it with was not cheap! I'll post pictures once I'm done. I also have some other projects I realized I finished but never posted and hope to get that up soon too.

Ryan's Socks are Finished!

Here are pictures of them on me. Since I sort of winged it by looking at both patterns I'm very proud to say that they managed to be exactly the same. I'm going to type up my own pattern based on both of the patterns so that it'll be easier for me to read when I'm doing them.

I used Lion Brand Wool-Ease Worsted Weight Forest Green Heather yarn with size 5 DPNs. I think it's the perfect yarn for socks (on those needles) and quite warm too!

The First of Ryan's Socks

So I had a go combining the two patterns listed in my links. I liked how the first pattern did things based on length rather than numer of rows, however, I liked how the second pattern was done on 5 needles instead of 4. I am not sure if it was the yarn or the fact that I did it on 5 needles or just because this is my 3rd sock (2nd pair) but this sock is much tighter and more solid than my first pair of socks.

Ryan's Green Scarf

Done in LionBrand Homespun yarn. It's hard to see but it has a 3K-3P ribbing on the ends.

My Never-Ending Ripple Shawl

LionBrand's Ripple Shawl - being done with Caron SimplySoSoft Heather Grey. Eventually it will be 5 feet . . . one day.

My First Socks

I used the pattern from the following website: http://www.royea.net/sock.html

They are addicting to knit!

My First Baby Hat

Unfortunately, I didnt make it deep enough to fit my little niece. It was just too cute though! Posted by Picasa
